World Vision has long been at the forefront of improving the lives of millions of children across the Philippines, providing them with access to life-changing education and the essentials they need to thrive. For decades, the child-focused organization and its partners have been dedicated to giving children a fresh start and the opportunity for a better future.

As part of its ongoing commitment, World Vision launched the #GirlsCan initiative, aiming to secure sponsorship for 1,000 children by October 11, celebrated as the International Day of the Girl. This ambitious goal recently received a significant boost from two generous partners: PAGEONE Group and Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc.

In a show of support, PAGEONE Group donated Php 100,000 to the #GirlsCan campaign, while a few months earlier, Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. sponsored the education of 60 children. These contributions are crucial steps towards giving young girls the opportunities they deserve, and both organizations have expressed their commitment to continue championing this cause.

World Vision’s efforts focus primarily on helping young girls who are often the first to be overlooked in society. Many are forced into early marriages, taken out of school, and made to sacrifice their dreams for the sake of their families. But through education and critical support, World Vision aims to give these girls a fighting chance at a better life.

“Year after year, the #GirlsCan movement grows stronger thanks to partners like PAGEONE Group and Binibining Pilipinas that recognize the incredible potential of our future generation,” said Jun Godornes, Interim National Director of World Vision. “Women are gifted and talented, and they deserve the same access to education and opportunities.” With just Php 900 a month, individuals can also change a child’s life by signing up as a child sponsor.

PAGEONE and Binibining Pilipinas: Empowering Through Advocacy

Beyond their financial contribution, PAGEONE Group is also stepping up as World Vision’s media and PR partner for GirlsCan Campaign. By utilizing their platforms, PAGEONE aims to spread awareness and inspire others to take action. Dr. Ron Jabal, APR, Chairman and CEO of PAGEONE Group emphasized the pivotal role of education in transforming young girls’ lives: “At PAGEONE, we believe in the boundless potential of girls and the transformative power of education. Despite the many challenges they face, education is the key to unlocking their future. When girls can, girls will—and the world wins.”

Another partner that has recently joined forces with World Vision is Binibining Pilipinas, the country’s premier beauty pageant organization. Known for uplifting women and providing them with platforms to shine, their values are closely aligned with World Vision’s mission.

Bb. Pilipinas International 2024, Myrna Esguerra, shared her own inspiring story: “I was raised by a single mother who worked tirelessly to give me the best opportunities. Now that I have this platform, I want to give back. Supporting young girls through World Vision has made my journey even more meaningful. I see myself in these girls, and it motivates me to do more.”
