Last December 6, I dined to One of the Best Japanese restaurant in the Metro. That specializes in  cut meat or Tonkatso in Sgt. Esguerra  Quezon City. The original or 1st branch was established last 1977 in New Otani Hotel, Tokyo Japan. They became popular because members of the Japanese Government would order its Tonkatsu dishes.

Originally its 1st CEO was a woman and was passed to Mr. Watanabe its 4th CEO. With over 40 years of experience, Fumizen specializes in Japanese Katsu particularly pork cutlet made with creamy savory special sauce, curry sauce with truffle rock salt.

The dish comes with miso soup, fruit side dish and pickles. Also they have tempura shrimp pair with tartare. Meat lover would enjoy Tonkatsu for their assorted deep fired variant made up of ground pork, beef with an option of cheese.

They also have grilled fish with rice set that you can pair with beer, sake, wines, shochu, soft drinks, tea, cocktails to fruit liquors. What something unique is that they uses Koshihikari rice – which is Japanese rice found in the Seiromachi, Kitakanbara-gun Niigata Prefecture.

Where the land is known for a clean land free flowing river. The rice has been harvested with in a week and cooked for a fresh clean taste. Fumizen uses only two kinds of pork the Satsuma black pig grown in Kagoshima-ken and the premium-grade Royal LWD Sangenton pig from Chiba-ken.

That guarantees tender and soft meat  free from any disease. Fumizen peeps told us that they will sever Ramen and will also open its 3rd branch here in the country soon. So come and taste the Authentic Japanese cuisines just right here in QC.
